Dehumidifier

Almost done with my engine dehumidifier. Some RTV and some sort of connection to the oil refill tube and the case ventilation and I am done.

Air from the engine goes thru the large box into the bottom of the smaller box (that will be filled with reusable moisture absorbent material). The air then goes thru the holes in the small box lid, into the large box. This now much dryer air is sucked up by the aquarium pump, pushed thru the other hose back into the engine. This closed looped system results in that the air moisture content in the engine  quickly falls below the level were corrosion can occur. Very good for an engine when it might go weeks between flights in winter time.

Shit happens...

My shipment from Vans with among other things my custom control cables was lost/destroyed during shipment.


Shit happens as they say, I must say that both FedEx and Van´s have handled the incident perfectly and to be honest I have and will not loose much time because of this. I have had lots of tasks to perform that was not depending of this shipment, I just have been prioritizing family and non aviation related things for the last 5-6 weeks.


Last night I spliced cables from the pressure senders, no pics from that, sorry. I am also almost done with the primary electrical system so a first start up of the EFIS and GPS in the panel should not be far away.

Delayed shipment

Nothing major, I had expected the engine, prop and FW forwards to arrive on the 23rd of february or monday the 26th. Now it will be 27th at the earliest.

Toys

Today I finally received my Christmas present who was held up at customs. Other news is that my engine/prop/fwf-kit has shipped, expected to arrive in late February:)

38 canopy trimming

So the sides of the front canopy are trimmed in preparation for the creation of the canopy fairing. Then I marked the front fairing line and taped it. Canopy is as can be seen below removed again.

In other news, my engine is now at Vans and will ship early in January together with the prop and FWF-kit :)

Engine/Prop

Sent my engine/prop order to Vans earlier today. Lots of money but I guess one just have to pay and try to forget about it.
